Country music legend John Williamson has been immortalised in the form of a statue in Tamworth.

The life-size bronze statue stands in the main street of the city.

Williamson told Deborah Knight “I’m a bit blown away by the whole thing”.

“It’s quite confronting to look at yourself in 3D.

“It’s just wonderful that kids are going to give me a hug well after I’m gone.”
