TROVE is SAVED as parliament guarantees ongoing funding
Minister for the Arts Tony Burke has announced that TROVE is “on the books” and will permanently receive $9.2 million of funding every year.
“There’s all this character we’re connected to with our history and it’s just there at our finger tips,” Minister Burke told Deborah Knight.
“It is now considered an essential part of government.”
Dr Marie-Louise Ayres, Director-General of the National Library Australia said “We’re so delighted that the funding is ongoing… which allows us to plan for Trove’s future. That’s the first time that we’ve had certainty for the service.”
