‘Treat everyone equally’: Treasurer fighting against ‘tale of two cities’

Article image for ‘Treat everyone equally’: Treasurer fighting against ‘tale of two cities’

The NSW Treasurer has denied opposing the Premier in calls for all of Sydney to be reopened together.

Dominic Perrottet says he doesn’t want to see a “tale of two cities” where some Sydney LGAs are given freedoms for reaching 70 per cent double vaccination before others.

“We should all as a city, right across Sydney, come out together,” he told Ray Hadley. “We should treat everyone equally.”

“The people of western Sydney have made enormous sacrifices, as we all have across our state.”

Ray suggested these comments put Mr Perrottet at odds with Premier Gladys Berejiklian and Deputy Premier John Barilaro.

“I don’t think I’ve said anything that’s contrary to what the Premier said.”
