State Treasurer Daniel Mookhey has not indicated if the state’s deficit will decrease with the new budget, admitting to 2GB Sydney Now, the budget is under some pressure.

He revealed there won’t be any broad cuts coming to the budget, and wouldn’t confirm if nurses would see any increase in pay.

“We already have delivered nurses the biggest pay rise they’ve received in more than a decade… from our perspective, we’ll always look to see what more we can do with the nurses,” he said.

The Treasurer also confirmed worker’s comp and disaster payouts are partly causing pressures to the budgets.
