Uber has signed a major agreement with the Transport Workers Union.

The move and alliance is aimed at protecting the flexibility of gig workers and also introducing a new set of minimum standards and benefits.

Uber and the union have been negotiating for months and both support the creation of a new independent body to bring in those new standards.

Ben believes it’s positive news for Aussies who work in the gig economy.

Uber Australia Boss Dom Taylor told Ben Fordham they are waiting for the federal government to legislate it.

“This is a calling for industry-wide reform,” Dom said.
