Former independent senator Rex Patrick has told Neil Breen that “it’s time for a change,” as shocking new figures emerge about the hefty salaries of bureaucrats, with some earning even more than Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.

“When you’ve got a public servant earning a million dollars a year, to run a Department, and the prime minister only earns $587,000. It’s hard to imagine how those numbers are set,” he told 2GB.
