‘Throw it in the bin!’: Jim Wilson rips into NSW government over potential London-style congestion tax

Jim Wilson has ripped into the NSW government for considering a London-style congestion tax.

The proposal is similar to one currently in place in the UK where drivers pay a $25 daily fee to drive within 25 square kilometres of the city of London.

NSW Premier Dominic Perrottet nixed the idea today, but Jim is warning the Premier to keep his word and make sure the idea never gets off the ground.

“Premier, I know you’ve ruled it out, well you better hold your nerve against some of your ministers, because if your government accepts this idea, well I suggest your next order of business would be sorting out their resumes,” Jim said.

“It’s one of the worst ideas I’ve heard in many years of being a journalist.”

Metropolitan Roads Minister Natalie Ward has denied the potential CBD congestion charge.

She told Jim Wilson there is no proposal.

“Let me be crystal clear, there will be no congestion tax,” she said.
