‘This will make a difference’: Premier confident drought package will help

The Premier says freight subsidies funded under additional emergency drought relief, will assist all farmers in some way.
The state government has announced an additional $500 million of drought assistance, taking the total package to $1 billion.
The latest announcement will cover up to 50 per cent of the cost of transporting fodder, water or livestock, up to $20,000.
Gladys Berejiklian tells Alan Jones, it’s not a full subsidy, but it will help.
“For the vast majority of farm businesses, this will make a difference.
“I know that the example you raised, it doesn’t touch the sides.
“But we needed to look at something that would help everybody because we know, as you would know Alan, some people are willing to put up their hand and say they need help.
“Too many of our farmers don’t.”
