Ben Fordham has crunched the numbers on COVID deaths and hospital admissions by age group in Australia.

The case fatality rate in Australia is about 0.57 per cent, outside of aged care, but that number has dropped since Delta arrived on Australia’s shores.

Including aged care, the overall case fatality rate is about 1.6 per cent.

“I know it’s a lot of numbers to take in, but they do tell a story,” Ben Fordham said.

“It’s called perspective, it’s called context and the numbers don’t lie.

“When are we going to realise this is overkill? It’s time to ease us out of lockdown.”
