This cocky culprit has been ruffling some serious feathers

We’ve all had a run-in with a noisy neighbour, but this fella has taken it to a whole new level.

A Hornsby Heights resident has ruffled some feathers, waking residents every morning at 4am for months.

The cocky culprit has finally been silenced, but it’s not a person who’s caused all the trouble.

It’s a rowdy rooster.

Relieved resident Alena Hughes tells Ben Fordham the constant crowing interrupted her sleep.

“I came back from Europe and for about the past three months I just could not sleep.

“Because at 4 o’clock in the morning there is a wakeup call for me.”

Alena says she was forced to escalate her complaint to Mayor Phillip Ruddock after the council failed to act.

The troublesome rooster has now been caught and Alena is back to her normal sleeping routine.
