The completion of Badgerys Creek is set for 2026, and it’s looking stunning already when you look around the facilities. But there’s one big problem: there’s nothing happening anywhere near it.

No homes, no stores, no new roads, almost nothing absolutely crucial, and a bit less photo opportunity friendly. So what’s going on exactly? Chris O’Keefe has expressed his concern about it, saying the first passengers won’t be treated to first-class infrastructure – but waving at sheep and cow paddocks.

“But when people land at Nancy Bird Walton Airport at Badgerys Creek in 2026, they can wave at the cows and sheep… because there is not much happening there”, he told Drive listeners.
