Two men at the centre of a controversial project on the Northern Beaches have been accused of falsely claiming to be Indigenous.

Neil Evers and Dennis Jones say they are the “traditional bloodline custodians” of the area around Lizard Rock. Nathan Moran from the Metropolitan Local Aboriginal Land Council (MLALC) alleges the pair have not officially confirmed their Aboriginal heritage.

Federal MP Sophie Scamps – the Member for Mackellar – is also under fire for her role in the saga. Dr Scamps filmed a video at Lizard Rock with Mr Evers and Mr Jones last month Rock- declaring both to be the “traditional bloodline custodians”

The MLALC has now sent Dr Scamps a legal letter- accusing her of “trespassing on private property”
