New South Wales Police Minister Troy Grant says a touching moment between the Duke and Dutchess of Sussex went unnoticed when they visited Dubbo today.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle visited the regional town on Wednesday, meeting with excited locals and visiting the Royal Flying Doctor’s Service.

Their every move and every word was being scrutinised by the public.

But Member for Dubbo the tells Ben Fordham there was a heartwarming moment between the couple that nobody saw.

“What a lot of people wouldn’t have seen… is she had her hand on the prince’s back to give him some comfort and support through what was a bit of an emotional speech, where he was encouraging people to seek help and support if they were doing it tough.

“[He] volunteered that he had to do that once in his own life.

“That’s an extraordinary thing to share with people in front of 15,000 adoring fans.”

Mr Grant said it was a “terrific” day and the royal pair made a “really great connection with the community”.
