The Assistant Treasurer has denounced taxpayer-funded grants given to eyebrow-raising performers.

The Australia Council for the Arts has awarded $50,000 to a performance artist who ends up “getting naked and putting something up her butt” while “popping nangs”.

“It’s a disgusting waste of money,” Ben said.

“The Australia Council for the Arts should be shut down.”

It comes after a poet who writes on toilet rolls about bodily fluids was handed an $80,000 grant.
