‘The model is wrong’: Candidate says voter fraud could swing the election

Article image for ‘The model is wrong’: Candidate says voter fraud could swing the election

There are growing fears people voting multiple times could swing the result of this weekend’s election.

Over the last two federal elections, there were over 18,000 multiple votes but nobody was prosecuted and nothing was done to remedy the count.

United Australia Party candidate Lex Stewart says the system is broken and it could have a significant impact in marginal seats.

“Both sides of politics are to be blamed for allowing this shoddy legislation.

“The model is wrong. The Electoral Commission is not a government department, it’s an unaccountable, independent agency.”
