The US warned that a Russian invasion of Ukraine was imminent today.

International relations expert from the University of Melbourne Dr Sara Meger told Deborah Knight, “I really don’t think invasion is Russia’s intention here”.

“They have few other mechanisms at their disposal in order to force European, US and other western powers to come to the negation table.

“Russia is using that succession of movement to help destabilise Ukraine politics and economy.”
