The inside story: Ben Fordham reveals how a Minister ‘blew up a plan to fix this city’
Ben Fordham has revealed how a senior Minister blew up negotiations to settle a rail dispute.
The government has been in sensitive negotiations with The Rail, Tram, and Bus Union which has seen multiple strikes across the network.
Yesterday, the Union received a letter from Transport for NSW indicating they were open to upgrading a train fleet built in South Korea.
But, during a meeting between the major parties, Industrial Relations Minister Damien Tudehope announced “the upgrades are off the table”.
“I’m told that he had not informed the government officials in the room,” Ben revealed, “They were blindsided and he was the bull in a china shop.”
Treasurer Matt Kean has backed up Mr Tudehope.
