The historic landmark partnership boosting women’s basketball

Harvey Norman is partnering with Sydney Kings and Sydney Flames to boost women’s basketball.

CEO of Harvey Norman, Katie Page discussed the historical landmark partnership.

Page used to play basketball herself as a young woman and emphasised the importance of creating pathways for girls and women to enter sports.

“[Robyn Denholm] and I are very much on the same page with bringing girls and women through in sport”, Page explained.

“The Future Flames program … will help young female athletes develop their skills”.

She emphasised the importance of investing money in the community and supporting young girls by providing various pathways beyond elite athletes, such as becoming referees, coaches, or working in different roles related to basketball.

“Anyone can put on a T-shirt, put on some sneakers, take a ball and go play the game”.
