This father-daughter duo have hearts of gold, making sick people smile on Valentine’s Day.

Michael and Talia Rubinstein will hand out 700 roses today to patients at Prince of Wales Hospital.

Michael tells Chris Smith how the idea came about.

“It started off myself giving roses to colleagues at work and from there the idea just grew.

“One year my grandmother was not well and she was recuperating in hospital. I had some roses left over and gave some roses to my gran and some of the other patients.”

Seven years on, the tradition is going strong.

“Some patients they can sometimes start crying, it’s very sweet,” Talia says.
