Police are faced with some unusual tasks, but this one is particularly strange.

Officers from the New South Wales Rescue and Bomb Disposal unit have stepped in to save a silly billy who got himself into a little trouble.

A goat was spotted by police drowning in a canal near Marrickville Golf Club.

Two officers stepped in and saved the struggling animal.

By all accounts, the little goat is a little wet and dirty but is doing just fine.
