The fight against scammers following $3.1 BILLION loss in 2022

Concerning new statistics have surfaced from the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) which shows Australians lost a record $3.1 BILLION to scams last year, an 80 per cent jump on the 2021 losses.
2GB Drive host Chris O’Keefe believes the country needs “a huge education program” to solve the issue, and ACCC Deputy Chair Catriona Lowe has detailed the steps which could be done to stop the scammers.
“These sorts of losses cause enormous emotional distress to both victims and their families,” Ms Lowe said.
