The Liberals have suffered a crushing loss in the Victorian election.

Prime Minister Scott Morrison has held a crisis meeting with federal MPs from Victoria to dissect the defeat.

The latest Newspoll added to the bad news, with the government now trailing Labor 10 points after preferences.

If the result is repeated on election day, the Coalition could lose as many as 21 seats.

The Big Guns are weighing in on Labor’s landslide victory and what it means for the government.

“I’d say the Feds have a bit to worry about,” Graham ‘Richo’ Richardson tells Ben Fordham.

Andrew Bolt says “everything really went wrong for the Liberals”.

“(Labor Premier) Daniel Andrews… he’s got this intensity about him.

“As ever in tough times you probably prefer the tough guy to the not so tough guy to look after you.

“This was a bloke that got things done.”

When it comes to whether it’s all over for the Coalition at the next election, Richo says “I think Scott Morrison’s been gone for a while”.
