The NSW Environment Minister says he will put forward the idea of a special parade to honour hardworking firefighters to the Premier.

The City of Brisbane will host a ticker tape parade for Queenslanders who’ve assisted in the bushfire crisis.

Mark Levy called on Sydney Lord Mayor Clover Moore to do the same for NSW firefighters but her office said it is the responsibility of the Department of Premier and Cabinet.

Now, Environment Minister Matt Kean tells Deborah Knight it is an idea he will put to the Premier.

“The question is, can we really do enough to thank these heroes?

“A ticker tape parade is the least we can do. I think it’s a cracking idea and I’ll certainly be jumping on the phone with the Premier after this.”
