The Grand Finals of Australian racing return to Royal Randwick tomorrow, with Day One of The Championships.

The fifth year of the event sees more than $20 million dollars of prize money up for grabs, over two weekends.

The very best horses in Australia will compete against some of the finest international contestants.

Wonder mare Winx is among those, she’ll have an exhibition gallop tomorrow before competing in the Queen Elizabeth Stakes on April 14.

Racing NSW Chief Executive Peter V’Landy tells Alan she’s racing to equal Black Caviar’s record of 25 straight wins, and that can’t be missed.

“If you want to witness history, be at Randwick next week because I think she’ll do it.

“She’s a once in a lifetime horse, I’ve never seen a horse as good as her and she’s going for 25 straight wins.”

Trainer Peter Snowdon has champion sprinter Redzel competing in the $2.5-million dollar TJ Smith Stakes tomorrow.

He tells Alan he’s not feeling the nerves, with the Everest winner ready to go.

“Not really. I’ve probably been in this situation a few times now. It’s up to the horse now, my job has finished.”
