Coming up to Christmas time, many of us are deciding what drinks we’re going to serve our friends and family.

Champagne will no doubt make an appearance.

But how do you store an open bottle of bubbly?

For this week’s Good Tucker, Michael McLaren is sharing his unusual technique.

He grabs some glad wrap, doubles it over and wraps it over the top of the bottle, securing it down with an elastic band.

“The next day [the champagne] had plenty of fizz… it was as if it was brand new.”

Caller Melissa rang in with her own bizarre suggestion.

“I just used a kids balloon, an unused one, pop that over the top. And it’s perfect for two or three days!”

Director of Champagne Bureau Australia John Noble and Manager of Sofitel Sydney’s Champagne Bar Sutari Martinez also join Michael for a champagne masterclass.
