The Big Guns weigh in on the government’s Royal Commission blunder

Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull has conceded politically it would have been better to call a banking Royal Commission much sooner.

The Big Guns Graham Richardson and Andrew Bolt weigh in on the time it took for the government to call a Royal Commission.

“We’ve gone from yesterday Financial Services Minister Kelly O’Dwyer refusing to say the government had got it wrong by stalling for nearly two years on this Royal Commission. The Prime Minister today saying politically he got it wrong.

“We’ll get there eventually,” Andrew tells Ben Fordham.

Graham says there isn’t an Australian walking the streets who doesn’t know it was a mistake not to have the royal commission earlier.

“When you miss the bus as entirely as these people have, you just have to admit it.

“Obviously a royal commission into the banks shouldn’t have been stalled for two years… they really should have listened earlier.

“The question now is what happens to these people? I’m still worried that not much will be the answer.”
