STUMPS DAY 3.
Mitch Marsh and Steve Smith end the day having put on a 300 run partnership. Smith ended the day 229 not out and Marsh ended at 180 not out. Australia are 4-549 with a 146 run lead.
England had no answers for the rampaging Aussies who played some cracking strokes throughout the afternoon. Mitch Marsh silenced the critics with his remarkable innings and looks to have cemented his spot in the side going forward.
Moeen Ali took the only English wicket of the day, removing Shaun Marsh for 28, caught at slip by Joe Root, but that is where the joy stopped for the English as the Ashes continues to slip away.
