Novak Djokovic will today learn whether he can play in the Australian Open as he takes his case to court.

The world tennis number one is fighting to overturn a decision to cancel his visa.

In the meantime, Czech tennis player Renata Voráčová was deported after her visa was cancelled by the Australian Border Force.

She had already been playing tennis in Melbourne after reportedly entering Australia with a vaccine exemption, having recently contracted and recovered from COVID-19.

Australian Catholic University’s Professor Patrick Keyzar told Chris Smith “it’s terribly embarrassing for all the key players”.
