‘Tennessee treasure’ – Nashville devastated by Dolly Parton’s passing
The CEO and President of the Nashville Convention and Visitors Corporation has given a first-hand account of how the home of country music is coping with the news of Dolly Parton’s passing.
Deana Ivey has told 2GB Afternoons that Dolly Parton’s love affair with the city started when she was young.
“When you really look beyond her talents as a singer and a songwriter and actress, she just stood for so much good. She was so inclusive, you know, always so kind, and so nice to everyone, so positive, so optimistic, and funny! She was wickedly funny,” she said.
The country music coordinator at Tamworth Regional Council, Cheryl Brown, has explained to 2GB Afternoon the connection Tamworth had to Dolly Parton.
