Two teenage boys have been charged after allegedly killing 14 kangaroos on the state’s South Coast at the weekend.

On Saturday morning, police were called to the Long Beach area, near Batemans Bay, after reports a number of kangaroos had been killed.

Five adult kangaroos and one joey were found dead on Blairs Road and Sandy Place.

A short time later, police were notified a further seven kangaroos and one joey had been found dead in the Maloney’s Beach area.

One injured joey has been taken into the care of WIRES.

Two 17-year-old boys were issued a Court Attendance Notice for recklessly beating and killing animals.

They are due to appear at a children’s court in November.
