Ben Fordham has slammed a Sydney Council after they were accused of encouraging students to skip school to attend a climate strike.

The Randwick Council voted to support the upcoming School Strike 4 Climate on September 20.

The global strike will likely see thousands of Australian students skip school to take part and put pressure on the federal government to address climate change.

The four big banks are also allowing their staff to use their leave to attend the strike.

Ben say the council has “taken it too far”.

“I don’t know how these councillors think that voting for children to skip school is going to be beneficial in the long run.

“I wonder what the Education Minister thinks about local government encouraging children to skip class.

“I thought adults were supposed to set the right example.”
