Thousands of Sydneysiders remain on flood alert despite heavy rain easing.

19 flood rescues have been carried out overnight.

More than 2,000 people along the Hawkesbury Nepean River in Sydney’s north-west are still subject to evacuation orders.

The Boatshed Woronora owner Nicola Gilfillan told Ben Fordham her restaurant has flooded for the second time in a month.

“It came in about 30cm up against all the furniture, brought in a lot of rubbish.

“It’s just a big clean-up at the moment.”
