Sydney teenagers charged after fireworks spark grassfires
Two teenagers have been charged after allegedly setting off fireworks that sparked fires in Sydney’s west.
The two men, both aged 18, were arrested after the Rural Fire Service was forced to put out several small grassfires in Bright Park, Guildford, on Sunday.
Police allege the teenagers set off fireworks in the park around 2.40pm, sparking fires which then began to spread quickly in the sudden wind.
The men were hit with several charges including negligent handling of explosives.
They have been granted bail and are due to appear at Parramatta Local Court in January.
