The latest data shows renters have to pay more of their income for a home in Sydney than in any other Australian city.

Some Sydney investment property owners are expected to take home an additional $5200 a year in rental income.

Chief of research and economics at Domain Dr Nicola Powell told Luke Grant Sydney house rents have increased by $80 a week.

“That’s over $4000 extra in rent people are paying for a house rental each year.”
