The Sydney Light Rail could be delayed… again.

The bosses of the Spanish company behind the troubled project say there’s no way it’ll be done by early next year.

The original date of completion was early 2019.

But today, a New South Wales Parliamentary Inquiry has heard a revised deadline of May 2020 may not be met.

The cost of the 12km light rail has blown out from $500 million to over $2 billion.

Leader of the Small Business Party Angela Vithoulkas was at the inquiry today.

She tells Ben Fordham “it’s become a joke”.

“I’ve just spent seven hours of my life I’ll never get back listening to a he-said, she-said version of the story, Acciona versus Transport for NSW.”
