Sydney commuters told to travel early as chaos grips train network
Commuters are being warned to travel earlier today as the rail network struggles to recover from an earlier fault.
The T4 line is experiencing delays after a mechanical failure at Central Station just after 8am.
There were also signal problems at Wynyard that have now been repaired but “flow-on delays” continue.
Sydney Trains CEO Howard Collins tells Steve Price they are working on the delays.
“If anyone’s waiting for that 6.29 this afternoon it may be worth just giving people the advice to travel just a little bit earlier.
“Trains are travelling regularly through the network but maybe not to timetable.”
