Sydney athlete sets 1500m world record in 95 years age group

An incredible achievement has shown age is no barrier for slowing us down.

In wet conditions, 95-year-old Heather Lee took to the track last weekend to set a world record in the Women’s 95 years age group 1500m.

Watch the incredible moment below.

Heather told Jim Wilson it was a feeling of euphoria crossing the line.

“I had a lot of support from people around me which really helped, it was a lot of fun.”

Heather’s next race to break another world record is at Crest Sports Ground on McLean Street in Bass Hill on Saturday afternoon.
