We’ve been tipped off about an unbelievable story that led to life-changing injuries for an unsuspecting driver.
It all started with an unsecured bed base on the back of a trailer.
On October 17th, 49-year-old Wilson was driving down the Bruxner Highway in northern NSW after dropping his daughter at work.
A car travelling in the opposite direction had an ensemble bed base secured in its trailer. A gust of wind blew the bed base off the trailer, straight toward the car travelling behind it.
That car—being driven by an L-plater—swerved to avoid the debris. As a result, it collided head-on with Wilson’s vehicle at high speed.
Wilson’s car caught fire; he became trapped inside and sustained serious injuries. Emergency services eventually freed Wilson. He was airlifted to hospital, where doctors worked to save his life.
Wilson now faces a long road to recovery, made more difficult as he is already battling early-onset Parkinson’s disease.
