Stuart Ayres says Government will not be proceeding with the recommendation of a ‘Garrison’ grandstand
NSW Minister for Sport Stuart Ayres has informed venues NSW that he is not supporting the recommendation of the ‘Garrison’ stand.
This news comes after the Minister advocated for NRL great Arthur Beetson to have his name in a grandstand.
The precinct’s Heritage Trust decided to name the fourth stand in reference to British Army troops that used the area as barracks in the 1850s.
Minister Ayres told Jim Wilson, “That won’t be proceeding”.
After being speculated Mr Ayres said the naming process will be revised and that it gets handled in the right order.
“We won’t be announcing individuals’ names one by one.
