Qantas is threatening to pull its multi-million dollar sponsorship of the Wallabies following Israel Folau’s comments about the gay community.

The devout Christian posted on social media saying gay people would be destined for “hell” if they don’t “repent of their sins”.

Former Wallabies captain Nick Farr-Jones weighs in on the issue.

“This is a storm in a teacup. It will blow over quickly.

“But it’s sad… it’s an impingement on freedom of speech.”

Nick says Folau has a “strong faith” and “means well”.

“It is big money that Qantas are paying. And they obviously have a lot of staff that would perhaps feel offended.

“He’s a lovely person, he means well, he doesn’t want to offend people.”
