Australian actor and author Bryan Brown shared his own experiences with books and reading at the opening of a community Little Library in Milperra today.

The Little Library has been established by a passionate group of local volunteers, with support from the Men’s Shed and the City of Canterbury-Bankstown.

Mr Brown told Deborah Knight the opening of the library is bringing a “sense of community” and escapism to the local community.

“Books are stories… they’re stories that either remind us of ourselves in one way or take us to lives that are so completely different,” he said.

“At the bottom of is our humanness, we’re all human beings regardless of colours, accents, cultures.”
