An 11-year-old has miraculously escaped a shark attack, a day after a shark attack in Vacluse that has left a 12-year-old boy fighting for life

NSW Police Superintendent Joseph McNulty has commended the 12-year-old’s friends who rescued him from the water, saying it’s a “true vision of mateship”.

“I can’t describe it other than just being a courageous, brave action by that young man,” he told Clinton Maynard.

He has also urged people to stay out of the water.
