Sports Minister personally thanks Ben Fordham for his role in new Parramatta pool

The NSW Sports Minister has thanked Ben Fordham for his work in campaigning for a new pool at Parramatta.

A new aquatic centre will finally be built in Parramatta after years of negotiations.

The original pool was demolished in 2017 to make way for BankWest Stadium.

Negotiations for a new facility had broken down between former sports minister Stuart Ayres and the local council.

But new Sports Minister John Sidoti has stepped in and saved the day, with the $77 million project set to be finished in 2023.

Minister Sidoti has personally thanked Ben Fordham for his campaigning on behalf of the pool.

“Ben, I appreciate your support and all your listeners for this particular project.

“Thanks for all your help. We wouldn’t have gotten to this point otherwise.”
