New Australian Bureau of Statistics figures show that job vacancies around Australia are roughly equal to the unemployment level.

Australian Chamber of Commerce & Industry representative Jenny Lambert joined Luke Grant on Drive to discuss how to fill the vacancies and fix the shortage.

Ms Lambert outlined the need to get pensioners back into the workforce as well as the need for better training pathways and the importance of migrant workers.

“There are so many businesses crying out for workers … we really need to look at all options available to us,” she said.

“We’ve got to work out a better way of connecting people who are looking for work with the ones that are looking for workers.”
