‘Sold a pup’- What went wrong in our bid for increased productivity
Michael McLaren has questioned what went wrong in Australia’s bid for productivity.
He notes all the promises and “medications”, including skilled migration, aimed to boost our productivity may have done more harm than good.
“We must be strong enough to ask whether we have the settings right… and we need a political class brave enough to stare down the vested interests, and the increasingly tribal voting blocks out there, and simply apply raw mathematics to the equation,” he said.
