Ben Fordham has slammed Labor for scrapping the cashless welfare card.

The card blocked off 80 per cent of welfare recipients’ payments so the money cannot be spent on alcohol or gambling or be withdrawn as cash.

“This is what happens when our leaders are as soft as sponge cake,” Ben said.

“This card didn’t cut anyone’s welfare, it didn’t BAN anyone from spending money on gambling or grog all it did was set a realistic budget.”
