Socceroos fans will get their first opportunity in years to see their team on home soil in a crucial World Cup qualification match.

Australia play Saudia Arabia on Thursday night at Parramatta’s CommBank Stadium.

Striker Jamie Maclaren told Mark Levy and Candice Warner it’s a very big game for the Socceroos, who will lean into the crowd advantage.

“When you play in front of your fans … you realise how important it is playing seeing the yellow in the crowd, and how much that gives us a lift.

“Sport gives everyone a lift, when everything’s doom and gloom and you can turn the telly on and watch a live game.”
