Football fans have taken to the streets after Australia defeated Denmark, 1-0, at the FIFA World Cup.

The victory propels Australia through to the final 16, for the first time since 2006.

Mathew Leckie scored in the second half, sealing the win.

Socceroos coach Graham Arnold told Ben Fordham he’s given Mathew Leckie both a hug and a kiss!

“We will continue to make Australia proud.”
