After Triple J decided to cancel its Australia Day Hottest 100, Chris Smith thought he would run his own Australian music poll.

His Top 5 songs are:

  1. ‘True Blue’ – John Williamson
  2. ‘I Am Australian’ – The Seekers
  3. ‘Great Southern Land’ – Icehouse
  4. ‘Khe Sanh’ – Cold Chisel
  5. ‘Down Under’ – Men At Work

Listeners had their say adding another five songs to the list:

  1. ‘I Was Only’- Redgum
  2. ‘Solid Rock’- Goanna
  3. ‘Eagle Rock’- Daddy Cool
