Slain Queensland police officers farewelled with public memorial service

Mark Levy

Thousands of people, including the Prime Minister, will today pay their respects at a public memorial service for slain Constables Rachel McCrow and Matthew Arnold.

The young officers, and neighbour Alan Dare, were shot dead during an ambush on a Wieambilla property on the Western Downs last week.

8000 people are expected at the memorial service at Brisbane Entertainment Centre, while thousands more attend streaming sites around the state.

9 News Queensland journalist Peter Fegan joined Mark Levy to talk about the service being held in Queensland today.
